Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Block Kentuckians

The CEREUS poker network, home of Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, has become the lastest poker network to block IP addresses of Kentucky players.  They have followed other poker networks such as Merge Poker, Microgaming Poker and Cake Poker by excluding residents of the state.

Players on the network received an e-mail that read, “We regret to inform you that, effective immediately, AbsolutePoker.com (and UltimateBet.com) is no longer available to Kentucky residents. This means that you will not be able to access our website and software from within the state boundaries of Kentucky.â€

The mail also included links to the cashier and support sections of both poker rooms to help players close their accounts.  The drastic action was taken as a result of an ongoing dispute in the Kentucky courts between Governor Steve Beshear and sections of the online gambling industry.  Back in September, Beshear ordered that 141 online gambling domain names be seized.

However, all is not lost for Kentucky based poker players.  Both PokerStars and Full Tilt poker are still accepting players from the state.
