Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Merge Player Bases

The long expected merger between the Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet networks looks set to go ahead this week. The player bases of each poker room will join later today to create a new poker network called CEREUS.

Although the players bases for both Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet will merge into one large pool, the poker rooms themselves are expected to remain seperate, so players will continue to log in and play from their respective poker rooms.

The new CEREUS network was announced back in July, but had been delayed due to a legal battle between the former owners of Ultimate Bet (Excapsa) and its current owners (Tokwiro).

An Ultimate Bet press release explains why players should welcome the merger, “CEREUS is the result of more than 12 months innovation and development. What does it mean for UB players? As part of the network, UltimateBet will retain all the unique assets that create the ultimate poker experience, but we will share more players, more action, more tournaments, and add incredible new features.”
