Leonardo DiCaprio Stars In New Online Poker Movie

Jun 18, 2009 - 9:55:34 AM

Leonardo DiCaprio looks set to star in a new poker film that explores the darker side of online poker.  The move is a gamble for the Hollywood star, as poker movies have traditionally not performed well at the box office.  Anyone remember 'Lucky You', 'Deal', 'Shade' or 'High Roller'?

The screenwriters who gave us cult poker classic "Rounder", Brian Koppelman and David Levien, are behind the new movie, which takes place in the shady world of online casinos in Costa Rican.

The "Titanic" actor is also a poker fanatic who has participated in a number of charity poker tournaments as well as co funding a global warming documentary called "The 11th Hour" along with poker legend Doyle Brunson.
