John "The Razor" Phan Wins Player Of The Year 2008

John "Razor" Phan has been named Player Of The Year 2008 by both Bluff Magazine and Card Player.  Phan took this years award after taking a World Poker Tour title and 2 World Series Of Poker Braclets. He also managed to take home over $2 million in tournament winnings in 2008.

Pro Phan's biggest payday came in August when he took the WPT's Legends Of Poker title. After coming out on top of a field of 373 of the world's top players, Phan took home the first prize of over $1 million. His first WSOP braclet win earned him $434,789 in prize money while the second, only a week later, earned him another $151,911.

Previous winners of the Card Player POY include: Daniel Negreanu, Men “The Master” Nguyen, T.J. Cloutier, David “The Dragon” Pham, Tony Ma, and Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi.

Former winners of Bluff Magazine's prestigious  POY include: Bill Edler, Chad Brown and Phil Ivey.
