Daniel Negreanu, Canada's most famous poker player, had a home victory this weekend when he won the BC Poker Championships Main Event title. Negreanu took home $371,910 and claimed the title at the River Rock Casino in Richmond, B.C., winning the second largest Canadian poker tournament of the year.
The 4 day, $2,500 main event attracted some big names such as Gabe Kaplan, Gavin Smith, Brad Booth, Lacey Jones and Gavin Smith. Negreanu saw off a total field of 670 players to claim the title on Sunday night, saying that "it may have been a smaller tournament, but
I would say this has been the best $2500 buy-in event structure I've
ever played."
