The 2009 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship has been won by Huck Seed, cementing his reputation as one of the best heads up players playing today.

Seed took the title after winning the first 2 games in a best-of-three series against Vanessa Rousso. Rousso took home $250,000 for her second place finish, while Seed walked away with the first prize of $500,000.

Huck Seed has the distinction of being the only player to cash in at all 5 NBC National Heads-Up Championships. Seed also won the World Series Of Poker Main Event back in 1996 and made the final table of the WSOP again in 1999.

NBC will broadcast television the National Heads-Up Poker Championship over 6 weeks, beginning at noon on the 12th April.
