World Poker Tour To Visit Africa For The First Time

The World Poker Tour have announced that a WPT Event will be staged in Africa for the first time this year.  WPT Marrakech will take place at Morocco’s famous Casino de Marrakech this October.

“We’re very glad to offer WPT tournaments in Morocco,” said WPT President Steve. “Our goal is to bring value to our partners and WPTE shareholders as we expand our global footprint.”

The 3 year deal will see the WPT Marrakech event take place at the Casino de Marrakech, Morocco's first casino, which was established in 1952 and is set in the exotic grounds of the Es Saadi Gardens & Resort.

Marrakech's close proximity to Europe and its reputation as an exotic location should bolster the tours reputation as a truly global brand and help the WPT loosen the EPT's grip on the Europan poker market.
