After hosting 2 highly successful events, the organisers of Dream Team Poker have upped the ante by joining forces with the World Series of Poker WSOP. The next event will take place July 12-13, 2009 at the Rio in Las Vegas during the closing days of the 2009 World Series Of Poker.

The latest instalment of this patent pending event will have a $560 buy-in per player ($1,680 per team) and the first 300 to register at dreamteampoker.com will receive their very own personalised jersey for the tournament.

“After seeing the terrific response to the recent Dream Team Poker tournaments in Las Vegas, we thought a team-based event would be a fun addition to the end of the WSOP,” commented Jeffrey Pollack, World Series Of Poker Commissioner. “The Dream Team Poker event is one of the many new elements added in 2009 that will help make this summer a memorable one for all WSOP players and fans.”

Player compete individually at the Dream Team Poker event but they also earn points for their team based on where they get knocked out of the event, which means they sill have an incentive to stay engaged in the tournament even after they've been eliminated. The unique team based format ensures that all players have a better chance of winning part of the prize pool, either as an individual player or as part of a winning team.
